One of the most anticipated games of the year is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We’ve seen a few snippets of footage showing off a bit about the story and gameplay, but now we have a new trailer with a peek into Cal’s journey and the rag-tag bunch of rebels he finds himself with. Available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday season, November 15th, 2019.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - “Cal’s Mission” Trailer

Fallen Republic

The game takes place in the years after Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. The Jedi Order has been disbanded, and the Galactic Empire has tightened his grip around the Galaxy. Cal was just a Youngling when Emperor Palpatine launched his scheme to take over and had to go on the run after the Jedi Temple was destroyed by Darth Vader and his Clone Troopers.

Thrust Into Adventure

After years spent in hiding, Cal eventually must face his destiny. He runs away from his home and finds himself in a galaxy-sized adventure as he struggles with his place in the universe, the Force, and the very real threat of the Empire following him at every turn.

Exploration

The game is a third-person action-adventure game where you as Cal Kestis explore various planets and battle all sorts of alien creatures and the Imperial forces. It takes some inspiration from games like The Legend of Zelda and Metroid Prime in that you can explore large levels, gain new abilities, and find hidden secrets and paths. The game isn’t open-world exactly, but the planets you find yourself on are large enough to freely explore as you embark on your journey.

Easy to Pick Up, Hard to Master

Fallen Order is the first real single-player Star Wars game since The Force Unleashed series, and hopes to fully immerse you in the shoes of a Jedi. You’ll unlock new Force powers, customize your lightsaber, and master both throughout the game. The combat has been designed to be easy to pick up and enjoy, but deep and engaging enough to enjoy over a long time.
