Tackle the powerful Firelord Ragnaros and his minions with your friends in the World of Warcraft card game! Here’s Gary’s game review.

He's big, bad and hotter than a mouthful of jalapeno peppers - it's Ragnaros the Firelord! This immensely powerful World of Warcraft video game boss lives in his molten core lair beneath Blackrock Mountain, waiting for brave heroes to challenge him for his treasures. Now you can kick the snot out of his royal mightiness in the World of Warcraft card game too! All you need is a Molten Core Raid Deck - Gary grabbed one and here's his review.

Battling Ragnaros and his Minions

When it's time to battle Ragnaros one player gets to control the firelord while everybody else plays their own fantasy hero decks. The heroes win by beating nine mini-bosses, then Ragnaros himself. Ragnaros wins by destroying all the heroes. It's an incredible battle that takes teamwork and three to five heroes to win!

Teamwork and Treasure!

With ten bosses, minions, powerful rune cards and a horde of deadly attacks, it takes a lot to put the smackdown on Ragnaros but if you and your friends pull it off it's awesome! Each Molten Core deck also comes with a pack of 10 super-cool cards from a set of 30 you can't get anywhere else. They're great for powering up your heroes to challenge Ragnaros and other opponents.

Too Hot to Handle?

The biggest problem with this deck is that, while a huge boss battle with your friends is cool, it's a special event, not something you can do a lot of. So Ragnaros will spend a bunch of time sitting on a shelf threatening your Yu-Gi-Oh! cards with fire and doom. The 30 cards you can only get in the Molten Core decks are annoying too 'cuz nobody needs more than one of these things!

Hot Stuff or Not Enough?

If you're a World of Warcraft card game fan with a bunch of friends who play the game, this is a great deck for you to split the cost on and share. It's even better if you can find someone who's mom or dad plays the game - parents make great villains for you and your friends to challenge! But, it's not something for casual players.

Thumbs Up:

  • A great challenge for you and your friends.
  • Ten different boss monsters to battle.
  • Awesome cards and a really cool box.
  • Get someone's parent to play Ragnaros!
  • Thumbs Down:

  • You need a bunch of friends to play a game.
  • A battle will take at least an hour!
  • Ragnaros is immune to fire damage, so fire wizards need a new deck!
  • Deck Rating: 4
