The Sims is a virtual world full of virtual people and your very own cyber family. The game for PC is a huge hit and its getting bigger. Catch up on where The Sims came from and where theyre going.

The Sims blasted onto computers around the world at the beginning of the new millennium and hooked people on a virtual world of digital families, cyber people and sim-ulated life. You could watch them go about their lives working, playing and even romancing. With a click of the mouse here and a click of the mouse there you could get them to do almost anything.

At first you could build your Sims a house, pick the furniture, pick the habits for them and do all kinds of stuff. Then Will Wright (the guy behind nearly every Sim game on the planet) decided that everybody needed more.

In the summer of 2000 The Sims: Livin' Large hit stores. Holy redecoration Batman! The expansion was packed full of more furniture, decorations and do-dads than your mom's purse. Everyone's Sims had some cool new digs to play with.

The Sims couldn't have happened without the help of a 15 year-old girl though. We'll have more on that later this week.

1My Sims families are usually like with two adults who, I make fall in love. And then they have two kids, or maybe three. I always use the cheet codes so I build huge houses and I have all the expansion packs exceptt for The Sims Unleashed, The Sims Deluxe and The Sims Online. I am going to get The Sims Unleashed and it will be a blast!
