Star Wars: Clone Wars - Republic Heroes
If you've checked out our series of exclusive interviews with the Clone Wars - Republic Heroes devs, then you're already plenty excited for this game. If not, then we can tell you that you play as one of 8 jedi or a clone trooper and pummel the Separatists as you track down bounty hunter Cad Bane and the Skakoan Kul Teska.
NBA Live 10 v. NBA 2k10
The big two NBA games are coming out on October 6th! NBA Live 10, EA's entry, tries to revamp a somewhat dull franchise with some interesting new tricks. Shots require skilled timing again, not just the luck-based "shoot 'n' pray" method of the past. About the coolest new addition, Live Run, is an online multiplayer mode in which everyone controls one player in a pickup game as whichever pro they choose. This mode really makes you think about how basketball is really played, especially on defense. NBA 2k10, the reigning b-ball game champion, is adding in a new single-player career mode, in whic you also play as just one player on the court.
Wii Fit Plus
This week, we're getting a small expansion to the original Wii Fit with Wii Fit Plus, currently listed at around $20 stand-alone and $100 with a balance board. The new game combines some old Wii Fit activities with 15 new games and 6 new activities. Also, your pets can now be weighed and tracked within the game, though they can't really play any activities. Still, I'm glad to know that my dog will finally have a reason to get off the couch and stop playing Halo all day.
