Chaotic, Shaun White, and Pop 'n Music

Jul 10, 2018

Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview Chaotic: Shadow Warriors, Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage, and Pop 'n Music!

Chaotic: Shadow Warriors

The hit trading card game and animated series, Chaotic, is getting its own video game, a mixture between an action platformer, a strategy game, and an RPG. Your character moves through an action-packed overworld, stopping only to customize his group of creatures and battle it out in a turn-based strategy environment. Over 40 creatures and 30 pieces of battle armor can be used to tweak your line-up, so you can cast your mugic (music + magic = mugic) spells. The game is coming out for the three major consoles and the Nintendo DS.

Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage

Shaun White Snowboarding is back, allowing for exhilarating snowboarding action with either your Wiimote or, even better, the Wii Fit Balance Board. This sequel has eight different levels, from regular snowy mountains to the streets of San Francisco. One exciting new addition: If you have the Wii MotionPlus add-on from the last Tiger Woods game or Wii Sports Resort, you can customize your own tricks by spinning the controller however you want and seeing your character on-screen (attempt to) do the same. If you can land the spin, you can use it across the game, your own signature flip. Just try not to sling it into the TV.

Pop 'n Music

After last week gave us two new Guitar Hero/Rock Band titles, this week Konami is bringing its classic rhythm game to North America at last! The series looks a lot like Guitar Hero, using a track down the middle of the screen with beats to hit at the right time on your five buttons. However, you hammer on these rather larger buttons like they're bongos, and this series did start out seven years before Guitar Hero, so... The game is traditionally ridiculously difficult (it has nine buttons in Japan), but will surely be more friendly this time. The game just uses your Wiimote to virtually hit the buttons, so it's a nice cheap $30 price tag for what will surely please the rhythm game junkies out there.
