Rayman Legends: Wii U Game Preview

Aug 31, 2013

Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies have been asleep for a hundred years. They wake up to find that the Bubble Dreamer's nightmares have all but taken over the world! Once again, it is up to the gang to defeat the enemies, collect Lums, and save the world.

Heroes of Legends

Just like in Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends supports up to four players playing at the same time. Along with the familiar heroes of Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies, come a new female character named Barbara, a red-headed, axe-wielding viking. Additionally, Murfy the Fairy, who first appeared in Rayman 2, makes a return to the Rayman series as a helper. Using the touchpad on the Wii U Gamepad, you can control Murfy and have him help your characters by cutting through ropes, activating machines, grab Lums, or pin down enemies so that you have an easier time hitting them. If you are playing with the PlayStation Vita, you use the touchpad to control Murfy and, if you are using the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 4, you can control Murfy with button commands.

The Return of Rayman

Just like Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends is a 2D platformer with colorful environments and interesting characters. All the character can jump but Rayman, Globox, Barbara, and the Teensies each have different ways of attacking their enemies. The game is quite huge, featuring over 120 levels. 40 of these levels are bonus levels from Rayman Origins and have been remastered. If you beat a level, you can play through it again in Invaded mode. Invaded mode is a harder version of the level, with extra enemies or new goals that you have to complete.
