Top 5 Video Games to Watch For in 2012

Jan 22, 2012

January may be slow for video game releases, but that doesn't mean we can't look to the future and get excited for what's to come! Here are our top 5 most anticipated games of 2012!

Number 5: Street Fighter X Tekken

Not to be confused with Tekken X Street Fighter, which is being made by Namco, this is Capcom's contribution to the epic crossover battle between two different worlds.

Number 4: The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian is being developed by the same people that gave us Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, which were works of art. While The Last Guardian is not guaranteed to come out in 2012, do keep an eye out for more news regarding this game as it looks to be a great one!

Number 3: Final Fantasy XIII-2

If you love Final Fantasy and all things Square-Enix, you should already know about this game, which is due out soon. Final Fantasy XIII-2 looks to continue the story of Final Fantasy XIII, this time featuring Lightning's sister as the main character. Square-Enix has promised to keep all the stuff you loved in the first game and fix all the things that you didn't. Expect more time traveling and epic battles.

Number 2: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

StarCraft fans have no doubt been itching to get their hands on new units to use against their friends online. New missions, story developments, and the return of Kerrigan as a playable character is more than enough to get excited about.

Number 1: Kid Icarus: Uprising

Kid Icarus: Uprising tops our list because we have been waiting for it so long! Originally slated to come out in 2011, it got delayed to 2012 in order to get some extra polish. This 3DS game will make good use of the handheld's 3D graphics, whether you are flying through the sky shooting down enemies or running through beautiful environments slashing them up.
