If you don't know what a Neopet is, then you must be new to the planet Earth. These cute critters are all over the 'net and they invaded homes in 2003 with the Neopets Trading Card Game from Wizards of the Coast. The card game lets your Neopets compete against a friend in various challenges to score points and win. Now there are more cards coming out with the Battle for Meridell expansion and here's the 411.
Neopets TCG - Battle for Meridell Basics
The only bummer about the original
cards is that they didn't have much info about the world of Neopia. With the Battle for Meridell expansion that problem is fixed 'cuz there's a bunch of stuff about the lands of Meridell including info on the
King,
heroes,
villains, and places to go. There are also more Neopets, items and petpets!
Neopets TCG - Battle for Meridell Goodies
The Battle for Meridell
expansion is full of good stuff - here are some of the coolest new features for the Neopets TCG:
Locations that change the contests!
Heroes and villains that don't disappear after one battle.
Yellow Bulmaroo - a basic Neopet with 9 Int!
Plushie items that boost Neopet stats once they've been banked.
Lots of ways to move from contest to contest for your strong Neopets.
A story behind the heroes and villains that makes sense if you collect all the cards.
Paintbrushes to change your Neopets.
Cards filled with incredible Neopet artwork.
Neopets TCG - Battle for Meridell Problems
The Battle for Meridell Neopets card expansion has only one serious problem - nothing has the power of Fyora or Jhudora from the original set. So, players with those cards are still gonna kick your butt. Other than that, the cards are decent.
Neopets TCG - Battle for Meridell Final Word
The new expansion looks rock solid. It has the stuff that the first set was missing and more, with only small problems. The cards should be at a game or hobby store near you, so snag a pack and what you think!
