Toy Fair 2008 Highlights

Courtesy of Hasbro
Once a year the famous Toy Fair convention rolls through New York, bringing the world's coolest toys with it for everybody to check out and drool over. Toy Fair 2008 just wrapped up this year's show full of LEGO, superheroes, robot bugs, NERF, dinosaurs and even new eco-friendly toys! Here's a look at some of the coolest toys from the show.
KOTA the Triceratops
If you missed the
Walking With Dinosaurs show, now you can relive it in your living room with KOTA! It's a 4'
triceratops that reacts to what you do, roars when you talk to it and even munches on leafy greens if you feed it. This
$300 toy dinosaur is even
big enough to ride! Just don't try it if you're a super huge fan of cheeseburgers.
Superheroes!
Iron Man and the
Incredible Hulk have new movies on the way and that means toys! From giant green smashing
Hulk fists to an
Iron Man dart blaster, a remote-control
Spider-Man toy that really
climbs walls and even an
Indiana Jones sound FX whip (he's a superhero, right?) - if you like the movies, you'll love these toys.
Star Wars
There were a half-dozen different flavours of
Star Wars toys at Toy Fair this year. From new
LEGO Star Wars toys based on the
Force Unleashed video game, to Star Wars action figures based on the upcoming
Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and TV show. Here's the scoop on some of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars kits.
7676 Republic Gunship - Opening doors, flick-fire weapons, a speeder bike, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon and Assajj Ventress figures make this 1,034 piece kit strong with the Force!
7675 AT-TE Walker - With Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka and Rotta (the baby Hutt) figures, flick-fire missiles and 798 pieces, this kit is ready for action.
7674 V-19 Torrent - This 471-piece starfighter is ready to blast Seperatist droids to bits!
7673 MagnaGuard Starfighter - Loaded with two of General Grievous' elite guards, this 421-piece kit is ready for special missions.

Robot Bugs
The
HEXBUG, HEXBUG 2.0 and new micro-VEX robot kits were strutting their stuff at Toy Fair too. The HEXBUGs are little
robot bugs about the size of your hand that wander around, changing direction if they bump into stuff. The
VEX kits are hardcore - build-it-yourself robot kits with hundreds of pieces. The
first kit was fantastic, if you had
$300... The new
smaller kits are way cheaper (less than $100) and look just as cool - keep your eyes on these!
