Bush Gets Their StartIn 1992, Gavin Rossdale formed the rock band with guitarist Nigel Pulsford, bassist Dave Parsons and drummer Robin Goodridge in the Shepherd's Bush section of London. (Yes, that's where they got the name Bush.) Before coming together as Bush, all the guys painted houses while playing with other bands. Bush began playing gigs around the UK but dance music was all the rage - not grungy rock. Eventually, the band ended up signing with Trauma Records, an American label.
Bush Makes Its MarkIn 1994, Bush released their first CD Sixteen Stone. It was slagged by a lot of critics but became a hit in the US, thanks to the song Everything Zen. The band toured for over a year as other singles, like Glycerine and Come Down, became hits. In 1997, they took a risk and made an electronica-style album called Deconstructed - a collection of remixed songs. In 1999, Bush tinkered with electronica sounds again on The Science of Things but the album never took off. On the other hand, one thing that's never died down is Gavin Rossdale's image as a pretty boy - or the public's interest in his marriage to Gwen Stefani of No Doubt. These days, Gavin Rossdale is working on a solo album and is trying his hand at acting in the upcoming flick Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves and Shia LaBeouf.
