Train Trip

Mar 27, 2009

What’s believed to be the longest model railway in the world is being built by twin brothers Frederick and Gerrit Braun in the German city of Hamburg.

With about 10km of track, the 700 toy trains can take a scenic route through scale models of parts of America, Scandinavia and even the Swiss Alps.

By the time it's finished in 2014, the railway is expected to be twice as long and will take in France, Italy and the UK.
The brothers started on their Miniatur Wunderland project in 2000 and, so far, it's cost a staggering $11.5 million!
