Bo Obama

President Obama and his family have a new pet! A Portugese Water Dog puppy named Bo.

The first family released pictures of Bo the puppy, who is six months old and black with cute white paws.

Portugese Water Dogs are special because they are a breed that doesn’t shed any hair. It was important to get this special breed because President Obama’s daughter, Malia, is allergic to some dogs that have fur instead of hair.

To get the ball rolling, I ate a fern this morning. It wasn't entirely unpalatable, just a little bitter near the end. The aftertaste lingered for a long time though. Your turn.

"AlphaT" wrote: Love. What is it? If we don't know what it is, can we know what it isn't? What does it mean to say that Love is Love? What does it mean for love to "have" something?  The last two questions are what I want to look into in particular. See, many slogans and catchphrases have become progressive icons in the past few years. Examples:  "Love is Love" "Love has no gender"  "Love has no color" and, yes... "Love has no age"  Now, what does it mean to say that Love is Love? In fancy terms, it's a tautology. This just means that the statement affirms that something is itself. "One is equal to one" would be the saying the exact same thing. So, why is this statement often used to support gay marriage? How is "Love is Love" a reason for homosexual people to be wed?  Also, what does it mean to say that Love does not have a gender, or a color? Does love have something else instead of a gender or color? How can love possess a thing? Quoting Chesterton, "Love means loving the unlovable – or it is no virtue at all." Before I even try to answer your question, can you specify whether you're talking about the release of chemicals in our brains that are responsible for the phenomenon of romantic attraction--love--or the desire to do good to one's neighbor sort of love, or something else?
