Kidzworld's recap for the episodes that aired Wednesday April 29, 2009:
:: America's Next Top Model ::The five remaining girls—Teyona, Celia, Allison, Fo and Aminat make their first round of go-sees in San Paulo this week. The challenge is to meet as many clients as possible and book the most jobs and get back to the house before time runs out. Celia has some trouble with her age—a lot of the clients don’t want to book her because she looks too old. Most modeling careers begin around age 17, not 25.
Fi Fi Fo is No Giant!
Fo is the shortest model out of the top 5 and a lot of the go-see clients thought her 5’8” height was just not tall enough to do runway campaigns. Her walk needed work too. Allison had trouble too—the clients liked her pictures but thought she was too nervous in person. On the other hand, Aminat and Teyona impressed almost every fashion house. One client said Teyona was exactly the look they wanted for the campaign. Teyond won the challenge and received five clothing items from the five designers—she sure needed it, her wardrobe was a mess!
Nigel photographed the girls for the swimsuit shoot challenge so the girls were a little more nervous than usual having a judge working on set with them. Celia practices so much beforehand that her poses just look cheesy and contrived. Aminat has an amazing body but she needs to be in better control of her long limbs and Teyona holds her shoulders too high and Nigel actually has to step into the frame to direct her—yikes! Even worst is when he says Fo’s poses look like Gollum from the Lord of the Rings! Allison surprises everyone by bringing the attitude and looking like a mermaid that just washed up on the shores of Brazil. Even still it’s Teyona who takes the best photo. In the end it’s Celia and Fo in the bottom two. Fo goes home because she’s too short and still not in tune with herself in front of the camera.
:: American Idol ::
This week the top 5 idols—Adam Lambert, Alison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey got some mentoring from Oscar-winner and performing artist Jamie Foxxx. Taylor Hicks and Natalie Cole were the musical guests. Danny and Allison were declared safe early after they performed Come Rain Come Shine and Someone to Watch Over Me respectively. Randy said Allison sang like Pink but with more range and Simon thought he has swagger and gave an outstanding performance.
Matt, Kris and Adam were in the bottom three but in the end it was Matt who went home after his performance of My Funny Valentine failed to captivate the audience. Too bad the judges used that save card already! Next week the theme is Rock and Roll!
