Time to put away all your preconceived ideas about “games for girls.” Style Savvy - the latest fashion-inspired video game release by Nintendo for the DS system – is so much fun to play and lets you win contests, get featured in magazines, sell your own line of clothing, open your own boutique, visit the buyer’s center and even get totally made over!
Style Savvy is one game that’s entirely devoted to fashion. As a player, you buy clothes, sell clothes, dress up your avatar, open your own boutique to sell your fashion solutions to the world and so on. Basically, this is a retail/shopping simulator with a main focus on greeting new customers, listening to their shopping requests and then recommending clothing that will suit their tastes and budgets. Your reward for doing things right and making each and every customer who walks through your store’s doors happy is adding more and more income (that’s money, people!) to your personal supply.
The more money you have, the more things you can buy from the design center, which features over 10,000 different items cycled by season and randomness. There’s even an in-game magazine that shows off the latest and greatest fashion trends for the season (and the seasons actually parallel real time!).
You start off in the game as a lowly store employee. As you make more and more sales, you’re put in charge of your very own store, where you have to do your best to sell clothes and succeed the best you can. Everything you wear and do affects how much money your store earns – from interacting with each unique customer to making sure the right styles are hanging in your store at any given time.
