Kobe and Shaq - The Lakers' Attack
The LA Lakers have won three straight NBA titles - thanks to basketball's greatest one-two combo - Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. Here's a closer look at Kobe and Shaq - the two stars of the Lakers' Attack.
Shaquille O'Neal scores by powering his 300 pound body to the hoop. His size makes him almost impossible to defend which is why he gets fouled so much.
Kobe Bryant has a more stylish game. He gets his points by gliding to the hoop or taking medium-range jump shots.
Shaq's first and middle names, Shaquille Rashaun, mean "Little Warrior" in Arabic.
Kobe was named after a type of steak (Kobe) seen by his parents on a menu before he was born.
Shaq spent several years learning to rhyme and has recorded five rap albums.
Kobe spent eight years of his childhood in Italy and is fluent in Italian.
Shaquille O'Neal went to Louisiana State University after high school. He left after his junior year when he was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 1992. He took courses during the summer and graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in General Studies.
Kobe never went to college. He was drafted in 1996 from Lower Merion High School by the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets then traded him to the Lakers for Vlade Divac.
Shaquille O'Neal is obsessed with Superman and even has a Superman tattoo.
Kobe Bryant's favorite movie of all time is Star Wars.
