Champs & Chumps - The Atlanta Braves & Dwayne Rudd

In sports, there are always teams and players who rise to greatness and perform their best under pressure... these are the champs. There are also teams and players who fold under pressure or who don't show enough energy or desire to win big games... these are the chumps.

For example, The LA Lakers and the Williams sisters are usually always champs, while the LA Clippers and Phil Mickelson are almost always chumps.

The Champs - Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves won their 11th straight National League division title on September 9th to extend their amazing run of division championships. The Braves won with a ridiculous 20 game lead over the second place Philadelphia Phillies and now have the best record in Major League Baseball. The Braves now have their eyes set on winning baseball's biggest prize - the World Series.

The Chump - Dwayne Rudd, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns' linebacker Dwayne Rudd took chumpness to an entirely new level with his boneheaded helmet toss in his team's game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the opening week of the 2002 NFL season. During the final play of the game, Dwayne took off his helmet and threw it down the field because he thought his team had won the game. Unfortunately, Dwayne thought wrong. The Refs gave Dwayne Rudd a 15-yard penalty for taunting which allowed the Chiefs to move into position to kick the game-winning field goal. Not only did Dwayne's mind laspse cost his team the game, it also cost him a $5,000 fine and earned him the award for Kidzworld Chump of the Week.
