Kris Humphries is a power forward pro basketball player but you probably have heard about him because he is getting married to Kim Kardashian. Kris is sort of a small-town boy who stayed close to his roots in Minnesota. But he's also known to be a social activist and great charity worker. Hey Kim … hang on to this one!

Kris was born in a house full of athletes. His father was a football player and he has two sisters; Krystal and Kaela are swimmers. Kris has also been involved with swimming most of his life and he has his name in the USS national record in the 50 meter freestyle. When Kris was 12 he has started playing basketball. He eventually gave up swimming so he could focus on becoming a pro athlete in the NBA. His dream would soon come true.

High School Hero

Kris joined the Hopkins High School and he has participated in the McDonald’s All-American League. He has won the titles of the Minnesota Mr. Basketball, State Player of the Year and Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Kris succeeded in averaging double-double in his high school years. In his senior year, he averaged 25.7 points, 11.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Kris had a chance to play for the #1 Basketball Program in the USA, Duke Univeristy, but he denied their full scholarship and he decided to stay close to home and go to school at the University of Minnesota. What a softy!

Kris was drafted in 2004 by the Utah Jazz, and he has also played for the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks. But he’s always packing a suitcase because now he is in New Jersey playing for the Nets.

Kris is a partner of the Boys and Girls Club of America in Minnesota and the YMCA. He has his own foundation and he is very involved with giving his help back to the community. What an awesome dude!
