Dumbo 70th Anniversary DVD Review

Dumbo 70th Anniversary DVD Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Sep 20, 2011
( Rating: 5 Star Rating)

Just released from the Disney vault: the 70th Anniversary Edition of Dumbo! The loveable little elephant stars in one of our fave Disney animated movies of all time! Check out the review right here on Kidzworld!

If Elephants Could Fly

How could you not love Dumbo? Well, actually, the little circus elephant’s name is Jumbo Jr., but people call him Dumbo because he can’t talk – or do much else, it seems. Pretty mean, right? But Dumbo’s a plucky little guy and, with the help of some mighty tony friends (Timothy Q. Mouse, for one), Dumbo proves everyone at the circus wrong about his abilities when he learns to fly using his bigger-than-average ears!

Special Features

This special 70th Anniversary Edition of Dumbo includes both Blu-Ray and DVD, and comes with some pretty cool special features:

  • Deleted Scene: The Mouse’s Tale
  • Deleted Song: Are You a Man or a Mouse?
  • Taking Flight: The Making of Dumbo
  • What Do You See? Game
  • What Do You Know? Game
  • Celebrating Dumbo Featurette
  • Animated Short: The Flying Mouse
  • Animated Short: Elmer Elephant

Circus Elephants: Cool or Cruel?

We can’t really talk about Dumbo without talking about circus elephants. It’s a bit of a controversial topic because, while some circuses probably treat their elephants really well, others don’t – and that’s a problem. Before you go to a circus, find out whether or not it has a track record of being kind or cruel to its trained animal acts. Or, check out one of the many circuses that don’t feature any animals at all: flying acrobats and dance routines are plenty entertaining as it is!

But that's like waaayyyy after the Justice League. Which comic was this because the only man in any DC continuity that has ever "killed" Superman was Doomsday. Are you sure that wasn't an Elseworld story?
