2012 March Madness Preview

Mar 13, 2012

The 2012 NCAA Basketball tournament is all set for blast off. 68 teams have earned their spot in the famous Final Four bracket... have you filled out your guesses yet? Here is a little March Madness preview to help you get up to date on your college hoops!

Wildcats to Win

The big favorite to win the whole tourney is the Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky went the whole year only losing two games. If defense is the key to win in College hoops, then you can count on the Wildcats to shut down any of the league's top scorers. Anthony Davis is one of the best defenders in NCAA history and as long as he stays out of foul trouble, you can expect Kentucky to cruise through most of their games.

Cinderella Stories?

The most exciting thing about the Final Four tournament is that it's a single-game knockout format. That means if an underdog gets hot, all of a sudden there could be a few upsets that surprise us all. Of course, it's hard to predict these Cinderella stories, but that's what makes filling out the bracket so much fun. Here are a few Cinderellas to look out for:

  • #5 - Wichita State Shockers have a great name to shock us all if they make it to the Final Four past the Kentucky Wildcats
  • #14 - Belmont Bruins are 4th in the nation in points per game... can they outshoot #3 Georgetown in their first game?

The women's Final Four tourney is also on the run, however it will be much easier to predict the winner. Baylor's Britney Griner has led her team to an undefeated season and they look impossible to beat.

Predictions

Filling out the bracket is one of the best ways to get excited about the tournament. If you don't know everything about the teams, that's ok, nobody can possibly know everything about all 68 teams. So just guess... pick your favorite colors... choose the team with the better mascot... use your intuition... it's just about having some fun! Here's the KW bracket if you want to follow with us...

It's definitely an American thing - here in Australia we have like no Cheerleaders or Cheerleading groups. I think it's a sport but I'm not really into it. I think any girls or boys can do it. :3
