It's hard to believe, but it's been almost five years since our last real Mario Party. Mario Party 9 looks to bring back the fun times with its board game styled theme, loads of mini-games, and total randomness.

There's No Party Like a Mario Party

If you have never played Mario Party before, here's how it works: You and three friends pick your favorite character and they act as your token on a giant board. Every turn, you hit the dice and travel around the board. Along the way, you will get to play mini-games against each other and earn stars and coins. At the end of the time limit, the player with the most stars win!

Of course, don't expect things to go as smoothly as that! You will need lady luck to be on your side in order to win. Depending on your dice roll, you might find yourself stealing stars or losing them to Bowser! You can be inches away from winning, only to be dropped to last place. Of course, this keeps things exciting and allows new players to have a chance at beating experienced players.

More Fun Than a Barrel of Monkeys

Like with any Mario Party game, the majority of the fun is in the mini-games. Mario Party 9 does not disappoint. There are way more mini-games in this party than you can experience in a single sitting and almost all of them are fast, furious, and fun. Also, you don't need to find four friends to enjoy Mario Party 9. The game does well to accommodate two players and three player parties. You can also turn computer players on to have a full party at any time. Overall, Mario Party 9 is perfect for any gathering.
