Its time to revisit Unova in Pokémon Black and White 2! Check out our game review for all the details

The long awaited Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 for the Nintendo DS is finally here! Set two years after the completion of the Pokémon Black and White storyline, Black 2 and White 2 continues the quest to defeat Team Plasma and stop their plan to take over the world.

Starting Out

After speaking to Professor Juniper on the phone, meeting Bianca and receiving your first Pokémon, you can choose between Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, you are now ready to begin your journey! With Black and White 2, you can meet Pokémon from previous generations right off the bat, which is great because in previous games, you will have to beat the game first before unlocking these Pokémon. The gameplay and mechanisms are very similar to previous Pokémon games, making it easy to navigate for both veteran and new players.

Special Features

There are a lot of new features in Black and White 2, some are part of the storyline and some you have to unlock yourself. For example, the Memory Link allows you to transfer data from your Black and White games to unlock side quests. A new medal system is in place, much like achievements in other video games, where you can earn medals. By looking at the different ways to get medals, you can challenge yourself to play the game differently, such as beating the Elite Four with just one Pokémon! Then there is the end game – you can unlock Tutorial/Easy Mode or Hard Mode after defeating the Elite Four. While the Tutorial Mode isn’t very useful for you, since you’ve already beaten the game, you can transfer the key to new players and help them ease into the game!
