Mario and Luigi Dream Team: Nintendo 3DS Game Review
It's a Mario game, but it's something a little different! Check out our game review for Mario and Luigi Dream Team for the Nintendo 3DS!
It's been four years since the last Mario and Luigi game, some of you may not have even heard of it! Mario and Luigi is a fun action RPG series of games where you the two plumber brothers fight in turn-based battles using timed button pushes to dish out more damage. Like other RPGs, you can level up and equip better items. But true to a Mario game, there is plenty of jumping and exploring to do as well!

In Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Princess Peach and the gang visit the fluffy island of Pi'illo (pronounced like "pillow"). All the creatures of the island have been put to sleep and it is up to Mario and Luigi to save them and the princess. Luckily, by putting Luigi to sleep, Mario can access the dream world and stop the evil Antasma. Mario is not alone in the dream world, however, as Dreamy Luigi is there to help, along with lots of mini Luiginoids that Mario can stack and combine together to break obstacles and make weapons. While the dream world is is 2D, the main world of the game is a top-down 3D environment that Mario and Luigi must also explore in order to save the day.
Dream Team Indeed
Overall, Mario and Luigi Dream Team is incredibly fun and interesting. The game makes good use of all the features of the 3DS, including the motion sensors and the touch screen, which you need to use for extra-damaging attacks and puzzle solving. The writing in the game is super hilarious and the story is very interesting. Random battles do get a little bit annoying, especially near the end, but the game is well worth the time and effort.
ESRB Rating: E 10+
