Does Nova have the courage to do her own thing? Or is she doomed to a summer of misery? Find out!

Author: Tea Emesse

Nova's life is a nightmare! Her mom's pushing her into ballet when all she wants to do is play guitar. Her sister is a genius who got the non-frizzy hair in the family, and the cute guy at the library thinks she's "little sister" cute. Can she find the courage to do her own thing or is she doomed to a miserable summer?

Be True to You!

Nova Rocks is all about Nova finding the courage to stand up for herself before she gets stuck doing what everyone else wants her to do and has no fun at all. Her friends can't save her, but a mystery dare to do something outrageous, just like the ones in the Star Sisterz game, might save her summer and unlock her inner rock star!

The Bottom Line

Nova Rocks is a quick read that's all about how standing up for yourself is da bomb. It's the first book in the Star Sisterz series - a bunch of stories about girls who get mysterious charm bracelets when they do secret dares that encourage them to be brave and do their own thing. It gets a bit weak at the end, like it needs a few more pages or something, but it's still a fun read.

(PunMaster smiles "No no, it's fine! You enjoy yourself." She giggles. She unfolded the book a bit so two crosswords were there, one for him to work on, one for her. She leaned against him slightly, her gaze bright as she worked) "Well, I had some puzzles planned, but.. I must keep them in top shape if a human passes through so...." Blue thought for a moment, before running off into a snow pile, vanishing behind it, then he popped up, grinning, and chucked a ball of snow at Iron, hiding himself again.

Chapter 3- Game On -Part 1 (Paperjam POV from here on out)  From the very first moment Paperjam had been allowed outside of the void for the first time, he'd been working on figuring out how to get through, make a portal for himself.. Though he found it came with ease after some point... he wasn't sure why... He always had this voice in the back of his head, helping him sometimes, encouraging him others... The voice felt strangely familiar to him, but he couldn't place it. But he didn't question it.  Paperjam took to sneaking out when Dad(Error) was sleeping, though he knew it might be wrong... he wanted to see the world again, the thousands, millions of worlds he'd been shown. And honestly.. it was beautiful to him. But he would come to regret his actions soon.  Paperjam slipped off his bed silently, grabbing his sketchpad and pencils, moving across the gap in the void between his and Dad's 'room', checking that he was asleep.. he was. Good. He then backed away quickly and quietly, before turning around, and darting back to his room, and waved a hand, a portal opening behind the invisible trail his hand had left, and he climbed through, leaving it open. He never closed it behind him, in fear of possibly getting locked out of the void. He looked around. Today, he was in Underswap. Cool. He always liked this place, just because it was neat to observe and draw the people. There were others that were more fun, but he just was attached to this universe for some unknown reason to him. He couldn't explain it like many other things he liked and did. He just liked it because he liked it, no other reasons here. He walked through the snow of Underswap's Snowdin forest, carefully making his way into the town, glancing around, and then he slipped away behind Muffet's. He had a special place set up for himself on the roof of Muffet's. He went to the trees, and grabbed his ladder (he'd managed to find one that nobody was using, and hid it away so he could get up on the roof. He could probably teleport, but he wasn't testing that theory yet.)   He leaned the ladder against the building gently, then made sure it was secure, stuffing his pencils in his purple bag, and he held the sketchbook in his mouth (he didn't want to have to go back down if he dropped it, and the bag didn't have enough room for the book). He began climbing, and when he got up onto the roof, he took the sketchbook in his hands, removing it from his mouth, and took out his pencils, walking over to his space on the edge of the roof... but someone else was there. Someone he'd watched for a long time now. Papyrus. Papyrus was sitting there, and he glanced back at Paperjam, his orange eye lit. "Was wondering how long I'd have to wait for our mysterious stalker here to show up..." Paperjam slowly started backing away. No... no no no. He'd been careful, he hadn't given any reason for people to be suspicious of him.  Papyrus stood up, walking over to Paperjam, and before Paperjam could retreat, his soul turned blue, pinning him to the spot. "P-please... I-I'm not d-doing anything w-wrong... I h-haven't hurt a-anyone..." Paperjam whimpered. The voice in the back of his head spoke quietly, gently. 'Remain calm, deep breaths in and out...' Paperjam tried his best to follow those simple instructions, breathing deeply in and out, but he was still afraid. Papyrus looked him over.. "You're just a kid.." Papyrus mumbled. "Mind telling me where you came from?" "T-the void.... Or a-at least that's w-what Dad calls it..." Paperjam added on quietly, not quite loud enough to be heard. Papyrus stared at him like he was insane. "The void? You're telling me you were basically created like those two weirdos Error and Ink?"  Paperjam looked at Papyrus, confused now. "Who... who is Ink?" "You've never met him and you live where he does?" ".... uh... no...? Dad a-always told me it was just u-us..." "Wait, Dad?" Papyrus' orange eye flickered out for a moment, before returning. "Y-yeah..." "Who's your dad then?" "Uh... I t-think-" He didn't get to finish. A portal opened beside them, and Error came through it, his eyes glowing brightly, his scarf pulled up so it hid his mouth. "D-Dad..!" Paperjam whimpered slightly. Error's attention snapped to them, and his gaze narrowed on Papyrus. This was the first time Paperjam had seen Error angry.  Papyrus looked like he was trying to process this, but he wasn't given the time to. Error's strings appeared, and lashed at Papyrus, the taller skeleton barely having the time to dodge, his focus breaking, and Paperjam's soul went back to normal. Paperjam ran for it, hiding behind Error.  Error grit his teeth, snarling lowly, error signs and glitches rapidly appearing and disappearing. "PJ, get back to the void, now."

"Mk. Like what?" I looked around expectantly, not seeing anything obvious like the Ruins' puzzles. Maybe he meant something more like a Junior Jumble. The thought made me laugh. I wonder why Blue offered to do "puzzles" in general. Did he have multiple planned...? I was almost filled with dread, but then I shrugged it off. ((Papyrus begins filling it out, quickly sifting through his vocabulary and solving most of it very quickly. It was quite similar to the crossword in the paper from... was it 3 months ago? He sighed. He didn't have a very good memory... "Oh, oh, I'm sorry, you haven't gotten to do anything!" He hands it back to PunMaster with his pencil, apologizing profusely.))

{pfft. Sure. Idc XD You can ship my annon with ppl.}  (PunMaster gets out a pencil she uses for drawing and writing her stories, and starts, talking a bit back and forth discussing which words should go where and if they'd fit, etc, but she let him do most of the puzzle since she knew how much Papyrus variants (usually) liked to do puzzles. There was the rare exceptions)  Blue, actually didn't seem surprised. "Should've expected as much." He said simply. "So then, are you ready to do some puzzles?"
