PacSun - The History
In 1980, Pacific Sunwear started out as a surf shop that sold surfboards and wax. But when business went dry during the wet, winter months and peeps hung out in the mall instead of on the beach, the store decided to become the first surf shop to move into California's popular mall locations. And when PacSun expanded over to the chilly east coast, they introduced super-long board shorts, pants and sleeves. The rest is history!
