Zathura DVD Review

From the creator of Jumanji comes a brand new story of board game adventures. Danny and his older brother Walter just can't get along but then Danny stumbles upon the old, beat up game Zathura. Will the outta this world game bring them closer together or tear them apart? Read on to find out more!

Zathura - Blast Off!

If you've ever seen Jumanji, you'll have a bit of an idea what you're in for when watching Zathura. When Danny unearths the game, the boys have no idea what kind of crazy adventures lie ahead of them. With the first spin, Danny unleashes a meteor storm on the living room. When Walter takes his spin, an angry robot bent on killing him is released. And now that they've started the game, there's no turning back!

Zathura - Navigating the Space Ship

Not only are Danny and Walter faced with some crazy characters that seem to leap from their new board game - they also realize that their entire house has been transported into outer space! With no idea how to get back home, the boys try to enlist the help of their big sister, Lisa. But with the next roll, Lisa is frozen in a cryogenic sleep (she'll have to wait five more rolls until she's thawed out). If that's not bad enough, a stranded astronaut suddenly arrives and starts to eat all of their food!

Zathura - Aliens, Rockets and Robots, Oh My!

From the beginning to the end, Zathura is a visual rollercoaster. There is always something amazing to look at - especially the expansive space scape outside every window. The visual effects make things very realistic and you'll definitely think that you're stuck out there in space with Danny and Walter.

Zathura - DVD Features

If visual effects are something that interest you, then you should definitely pick up a copy of the Zathura DVD. There are a few different features that explore the making of the movie, there's commentary from director Jon Favreau and interviews with the cast of the flick!

Zathura - Bottom Line

For movie-goers looking for a flick that's action-packed, Zathura is the movie for you. This flick doesn't drag at all and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Don't be surprised if you let out a few yelps or jump a few times either - Zathura has the element of surprise on its side.

If I had to make simple choice, I'd prefer to live in It's Kind of a Funny Story simply for the people who were held in it. Despite the location setting for the story, I feel as if I could very easily fall for the characters all over again, especially in an even more personal matter. But, of course, if I was  going with a straight up fantasy like everyone seems to be, I'd most likely go with a world like Dorthy Must Die series or Alice in Wonderland. Both being these magical worlds filled with quirky creatures and people, so how could you get bored? Oh, and of course let us not forget the plenty of harrowing fight scenes for freedom from the evil queens and her many brainless followers.

The Iron Giant was way too advanced in some ways to be a child's movie, yet it was.

I would live in The Outsiders because it's a classic book. I would love to go on adventures with the gang and read books and watch movies with Ponyboy. (Because I too always believed I was the only one who enjoyed them.) I would love to open up to Johnny because he is such a kind hearted soul.
