Kurt Busch Biography

Kurt Busch gets ready to fire on all cylinders as the 2006 NASCAR season gets underway at the Daytona 500. Find out more about one of the fastest drivers in NASCAR right here.

Kurt Busch - Says No To Drugs

Kurt Busch was born in 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His dad was a former stock car racer and auto mechanic so Kurt spent a lot of time growing up around fast cars and engines. Busch raced go-karts when he was a kid and started racing Dwarf Cars as a teenager. After finishing high school, Busch briefly went to college with plans of becoming a pharmacist - but he soon realized he'd rather be dispensing speed on the race track than dispensing pills at a drug store. After racing for five season on NASCAR'S junior circuits, he began racing on NASCARS's top series in 2001.

Kurt Busch - NASCAR Champ or Driving Chump?

Kurt Busch's agressive driving style made an immediate impact on NASCAR's top racing circuit. In his second season, Busch won four races and in 2004, he won 14 races and the NASCAR driving title. While Kurt Busch's lightning fast driving has led to sucess on the race track, it's also led to several confrontations with other drivers and NASCAR officials. In 2003, Busch was punched in the face by driver, Jimmy Spencer, after the two bumped each other during a race. Busch has also recevied several penalties from race officials for hitting drivers and breaking other track rules. Kurt Busch switched to a new sponsor at the end of the 2005 race season, which he's hoping will bring both better results on the track in 2006 and a reformed image in the eyes of fans and fellow drivers.

I'm in marching band, and I don't consider it a sport.Yes, I'll admit that marching band can be physically demanding, but it isn't a sport. Marching band is nothing like soccer, lacrosse, rugby, tennis, boxing, etc. Comparing marching band to a sport like rubgy, hockey, cross country, or whatever is just... kind of ridiculous. You can argue that it does require some physical-ness, which it does. But it's just walking in tempo. It does involve some endurance to stand out in the sun and play an instrument for a while, but doing so isn't really that hard.
