Dec 27, 2006

With so many stories about professional athletes cheating on their wives or using drugs, it's nice to read some positive stories about your favorite sports superstars for a change.

Positively For Kids

Positively For Kids is a series of autobiographies, co-written by Greg Brown, on some of the world's biggest pro sports superstars. The series includes stories on the lives of Alex Rodriguez, Gary Payton, Drew Bledsoe and Sheryl Swoopes. Each story includes personal tales of the athlete's life growing up and the lessons he or she has learned along the way. Kidzworld founder Allen Achilles, worked on the project in the early stages.

The latest book in the Positively For Kids series is Have Heart - the autobiography of David Eckstien, the shortstop for the Anaheim Angels. In David Eckstein's book, the pint-sized shortstop of the Angels talks about beating the odds to make it to the Major Leagues. The story follows David's life from his days growing up as the youngest of five children in Florida to playing for the Anaheim Angels in the 2002 World Series. This book has several great stories, life lessons and special photos of David Eckstein's early days on the baseball field. It's an uplifting story that gives you a peak inside the life of a player that went from baseball reject to World Series Champion.
