Arnost finally came into sights of his destination. The castle. It had ten towers, supposedly to represent the 10 virtues vital to win the war. He sighed, weary from his journey. It was like a 68-hour ultra-marathon. On the first day, he jogged and ran, but after 24 hours of non-stop running, his legs were too stiff to move very far. The other two days, he walked, taking minimal breaks to rest. Being close to home, he smiled, being familiar with the area, but frowned knowing that he would have to visit his mother after the war was over. Need to serve my kingdom first.
Showed the letter with the royal seal to the guards, who then directed him to a castle where he was supposed to meet the other nine lucky people representing the virtues. The room was finely and fancily furnished, Arnost stopped and stiffened, realizing that he was going to live in the castle for a year. A young man and woman were in the room with him, awaiting something, perhaps the arrival of the other virtues. He grunted in acknowledgement of their presence and dropped his bag on the sofa and sat down, legs numb from miles of walking.
"I'd love to!" Ciara said with a grin, staring at Jay. She thought a party was a great way to get to know him better. And for him to know me. She thought darkly.
Alex fidgeted slightly looking out the window. She hated her social awkwardness why wasn't everyone scared to speak up? Was it only her?
