The Power:
Running at 300 MHz with 32MB of RAM, the PS2 outperforms the Dreamcast but falls behind the Gamecube and the Xbox. The DVD ability is a bonus but it needs more power to compete with the newer consoles.

The Games:
The PS2 has been out for a while and has some serious games. Heavyweight titles like Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec and SSX are rocking our world while we wait for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Final Fantasy X to come out at the end of 2001/beginning of 2002. Being able to play old Playstation games gives the PS2 a huge selection of titles - more than enough to compete with the new consoles when they hit stores.

The Price:
The Playstation 2 has been out since November and it's still clocking in at $300 US a pop. If it doesn't drop down a chunk when the Gamecube and Xbox come out, it's gonna lose out on some sales.

The Final Word:
The PS2 is more than just a game machine. With the ability to play DVDs you can watch your fave
