I used to skateboard when I was like 9. I always wore a helmet and additional safety gear. I once fell off my skateboard and pretty much did the splits doing it. I think even pros should wear helmets. It doesn't really matter if you're good at skateboarding, it only takes one slip up. Helmets can save your life.
