The Incredible Hulk :: Wii Game Review
Unleash your inner rage and smash everything with the Incredible Hulk game for Nintendo Wii! Here’s our game review.
The Incredible Hulk video game has arrived! The great green Goliath is ready to rock 'n roll on the DS, PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The game drops you into his ripped shorts and lets you run amok in New York, following some of the story of the movie, fighting super-villains and basically bashing the crap out of everything in your path. But, how fun is the Hulk? Find out with Gary's Incredible Hulk game review!
Smashy-Smashy!As Marvel's Incredible Hulk, you get to be the biggest, greenest, monster in New York. The military is after you, the Enclave is after you, comic-book super-villains are after you, even Iron Man helps to try to catch you! To show them all that Hulk is the strongest, you get to punch, grab, throw, jump and bash your way past dozens of bad guys. You have a health bar, but only big weapons can really hurt you. You also have a Rage bar that you can use to activate powers and heal. And, as you complete objectives, you unlock Upgrades - more powerful attacks, a bigger jump, faster healing and more.
Hulk SMASH!The best part about this game is that, as you lumber around as the Hulk, you don't bump into things, you smash through 'em. Cars crumple, signs collapse, fences shatter and a single hit sends most enemies flying. It's AWESOME! You can also demolish nearly anything, even buildings. And, anything you can knock down you can pick up and either bash enemies with or throw around like a toy.
Hulk Sad...The levels are a blast, but as soon as the characters from the movie show up for the cutscenes, it's like someone jammed a thumb in your eye. They sound like they're bored and the graphics look really, really crummy. The other bummer is that there's no multiplayer! It would rock to have different Hulks fight it out, or a Hulk vs. Hulkbuster Iron Man showdown. But you can't. Weak!
Hulk Super? This game is loaded with free-roaming smashing, tons of villains, huge battles and a real sense that the Incredible Hulk is an unstoppable monster. It also has tons of levels and missions, so you'll be playing for weeks! This means that, even with the really lame cutscenes, this game is a ton of smashin' green fun!
