Nickelback - Silver Side Up - CD Review

Nickelback - Silver Side Up - CD Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Dec 27, 2006

Nickelback's new CD Silver Side Up contains the hit tune How You Remind Me. This is a great song but it's not the only gem on the CD. Find out why Kidzworld thinks this album rocks!

EMI (2001)

The guys of Nickelback know how to put out a solid rock CD. You won't find yourself skipping through any songs on their latest CD, Silver Side Up. It's a collection of great kick-butt tunes from track one right through to track 10.

One of the reasons Silver Side Up stands out is because of Chad Kroeger's incredible voice. He has a deep, edgy sound without being another Eddie Vedder wannabe. Chad's amazing voice isn't the only thing that makes the CD a must-have, the band also uses a lot of unique sounding guitar riffs. A perfect example of their unique guitar use is on Woke Up This Morning. It's a powerful, wicked rock song but they stop the guitars in sections which really makes vocals stand out. Occasionally the guitars come crashing back for effect. It's definitely one of my fave songs.

The disc also includes the huge hit How You Remind Me. The intense lyrics on this tune really grabbed me the first time I heard it on the radio. If you like this song, then I'm sure you'll give the entire album two thumbs up.

Listening to Silver Side Up made me want to catch Nickelback in concert, cuz I just know every single tune would make for a killer live performance. This CD can be listened to from start to finish and is full of meaningful lyrics and unusual vocals. Silver Side Up is golden.

I know little to nothing about Tom Hiddleston, but he seems like a really nice guy, and I'd hate for Taylor to ruin his reputation. However, that isn't why I dislike their relationship. I dislike the fact that they are together because Taylor cheated on Calvin Harris with him and is playing the victim, as she does. Once her and Tom split, which they- inevitably- eventually will, she is going to blame it all on him although it will not be his fault. (If Tom is to ever cheat on her, she has absolutely no right to cry and whine about it. Maybe it'll be his fault, but it won't be his fault, if you get what I'm saying.) I give them 2 months until they break up. And it won't be Tom's fault. Hopefully it will happen before I spend a day with Tom so that there is no chance he would bring Taylor with him. Also, yes, she is just using guys for music.
