File Sharing Site Shut Down

Four men who founded an online file-sharing website have been sentenced to a year in prison.

The Swedish site, called Pirate Bay, is used by 22 million people around the world to download music, movies and games illegally.

The men have also been told to pay millions of dollars to entertainment companies whose products had been shared on the site.

Pirate Bay, launched in 2003, is the world's most high-profile file-sharing website. Millions of files are exchanged using the service every day. The site works by providing links to TV, movie and music files held on its users' computers.
