Did you know theres an official US march? Its called The Stars and Stripes Forever and was written by the March King, John Philip Sousa. Find out what Johns band was the first to do.

John Philip Sousa is the "March King" and one of the most famous American composers and conductors. John was born in Washington, DC on November 6, 1854. On Christmas day, 42 years later, he composed The Stars and Stripes Forever - the official march of the United States. John composed over 100 marches. He also invented the sousaphone (a brass horn instrument.)

John began studying music when he was six. When he was 13, his father enlisted him in the marines after he tried to join a circus band. Almost 10 years later, John was discharged from the marines so he began performing and touring with his violin. Eventually, he began conducting theater orchestras. This led to a job leading the US Marine Band. After two successful tours, John organized his own band. They toured Europe several times and were the first American band to tour around the world.

During World War I, when John was 62, he joined the US Naval Reserve as a lieutenant and was paid $1 a month. After the war, he continued to tour with his band. He also promoted musical education, received several honorary degrees and fought for composer's rights. John died at age 77 in Reading, Pennsylvania after a rehearsal. The Stars and Stripes Forever was the last piece John conducted.

1 Sousa's Band (the band John started) had their own baseball team.

Nope. Good riddance.  :) Okay, I'm totally kidding. I'm gonna miss that guy so much that I don't even know how to properly put it into words. He's such a great person, and I can't recall ever thinking of him as anything else. Everything about his personality is truly admirable, and I can proudly (but also maybe not so proudly because this is embarrassing) say that I look up to him; I think I kinda always have, even when I'd never communicated with him in any way. His debating skills - as everyone has mentioned - are outstanding, his intelligence is amazing, and his sense of humor is one of the best I've seen on this site (no offense to anyone else! you all have unique charms of your own!). He's always been so respectful to everyone, even if he strongly opposes their views. I can safely say he's one of the coolest people I've ever met thus far. Mark's username is one of the first I remember seeing when I first joined KW, and I'm sure it's one I'll never forget. I really hate seeing yet another legend go. But I'm truthfully certain he'll go places in life, and I hope the world treats him well. ♥

All this does help somewhat. Though I prefer listening to music that suits my mood.

Contrary to popular belief, don't have a large group of people. If you have a large group; you'll have more people you'll have to look out for, plus zombies like having the idea of more people because it means more flesh. Don't take any items that you can't carry onto.

Yes. I've been thinking about him lately and how he'll be gone soon. I don't agree with his views but he left an impact on the debating community of Kidzworld. I'm turning 18 in October so I can relate to him about leaving KW.
