Dear Dish-It: About My Body

Dear Dish-It,

I woke up one day with some pains in the lower part of my body and when I checked my panties, there was a sticky brown discharge. Can you tell me what it is?

KW65

Dear KW65,

If you haven’t got your period yet, this could be your first period. Because you said it was brown I’m inclined to think the “discharge” you saw was actually old blood – something you might see again at the beginning and/or end of your next period.

Since this is just my best guess, the best thing for you to do is talk to your mom about and possibly go see your family doctor so you can find out for sure what the brown discharge was.

You should grow comfortable with yourself before you come out. If you're not certain if you are indeed bi, then you shouldn't slap that label on yourself yet. Take some time to really think about how you feel, but don't worry too much about it. Your sexuality isn't everything. You have plenty of time to discover yourself as person. Don't rush it.

Well, they should be the same person. In my personal opinion, your significant other should be your best friend. You should be able to hang out, talk with, and share your life with your boyfriend/girlfriend just like with your best friend. So basically, both.
