G.I. JOE: Rise of Cobra the video game might not be getting the best reviews of all time, but we love it. Yeah, it’s true the game is not exactly earth-shattering stuff in terms of graphics. But, there are lots of weapons, fighting and chasing bad guys, which is pretty much everything we love about video games. Plus, G.I. JOE is always gonna’ be cool even 45 years after the first action figure came out.

G.I. JOE: Rise of Cobra the game picks up where the new movie leaves off, with the enemy agency COBRA launching an evil plot that gamers must stop over the course of 20 levels. From the arctic to the jungle players must choose which of the six G.I. JOE characters will be best to battle the bad guys.

“G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra is one of those games that screams fun from the first shot due to its fast paced action that never slows down until you’ve taken out the last COBRA boss,” said Chip Lange, one of the guys that helped make the game. “We expect the excitement to carry over from the theater to the living room as fans re-create legendary G.I. JOE action, tapping an arsenal of well-known characters, never-before-seen vehicles and futuristic weapons inspired by the iconic IP. Whether gamers choose to play solo or enlist reinforcements with our two-player co-op mode, forceful battles will unfold at every turn. This is big summer action at its best.”

Up to four players can play at once on the Nintendo DS version of G.I. JOE: Rise of the Cobra, which makes it a sweet way not only knock off COBRA operatives but to hang out with your buddies. So check out the movie when it comes out on August 7 and then go get the game.
