Guitar Hero 5
The new Guitar Hero is here, with an upgraded song creator tool, tons and tons of new songs, lots of new modes to mess around with, and even Kurt Cobain of Nirvana! Cobain will join the cast of playable avatars in this sequel to Guitar Hero: World Tour alongside Johnny Cash and Carlos Santana. One of those new modes, Party Play, gives you total freedom over when you play which instruments and on what difficulty, so you can switch between any of those mid-song, as can your friends! Also cool are the new "challenges", which ask you to perform song-specific things like "Get Star Power for 30 seconds" or hit the word "fame" at the right pitch every time in the David Bowie song of that name.
DiRT 2
The DiRT series is back, returning as the official offroad rally car game. New events both on good old outdoor dirt and inside stadiums and some interesting new racers like former BMX star Dave Mirra! Head-to-head online play joins the series along with the World Tour mode, which lets you race in scenic locations from canyons to jungles. And those locations are going to look unbelievable, as the game improves on its already unbelievable graphics from the last game.
Defense Grid: The Awakening
Defense Grid: The Awakening is an awesome tower defense game that came out for the PC late last year and is now making its way onto the Xbox Live Arcade. Defense Grid takes the addictive tower defense gameplay like in the famous Flash game Desktop Tower Defense and takes it into a Sci-Fi world, giving plenty of twists along the way. The story mode alone lasts for hours and hours of gameplay, with each map giving you a new challenge, with new enemies, new weapons, or just an interesting layout for the level.
