Ben 10: Alien Swarm DVD

This DVD cover is REALLY cool. Black and green and holographic, it shows Ben Tennyson when you turn it one way and a pretty smarmy-looking alien when you turn it another. Once you get past the crazy cover, the movie inside aint all that bad, either!

The Cartoon Network recently released a new DVD of its original movie called Ben 10 Alien Swarm. OK. The DVD cover is REALLY cool. Black and green and holographic, it shows Ben Tennyson when you turn it one way and a pretty smarmy-looking alien when you turn it another. Once you get past the crazy cover, the movie inside ain't all that bad, either!

Live Action

You're used to seeing Ben and his friends (human and otherwise) in cartoon form on the Cartoon Network. Well, get ready for something new. In Ben 10 Alien Swarm - the movie - human actors take the place of the cartoon characters for amazing new live-action fun!

Following previous Ben 10 movies (Race Against Time and Alien Force), Alien Swarm is a bit darker than its predecessors. With a slightly more serious tone to it, the story starts with Ben (Ryan Kelly), his sister Gwen (Galadriel Stineman) and her boyfriend/reformed villain Kevin (Nathan Keyes) having set up a sting operation, ready to bust some black-market baddies trafficking stolen alien technology. But there's a catch: in with the baddies is Elena (Alyssa Diaz), Ben's former friend and crush. Is she working for the villains now? Why is Ben's grandfather Max ( Barry Corbin) so untrusting of her? And what is it about Elena's father that Max hasn't told Ben and Gwen?

There's not much time to figure it all out, since the black-market deal led to the release of thousands of teeny alien robot bugs. These nanobots are dangerous and can morph together into giant flying weapons or, worse, literally get under your skin and control your brain. It's up to Ben and his crew to do something about the problem before the nanobots take over the brains of everyone on the planet.

Awesome, right?
