Dear Dish-It, Do I Tell My Parents I'm Gay?

I'm having a problem with my parents. I'm starting to get older and soon I have to tell them that I'm gay. I feel like, if they don't know by now, they don't deserve to know at all. What do I do? Back to Article

If i were gay then i would've told my parents right when i figured out i was gay even tho i'm not. It's nothing to be ashamed of, It's natural for someone to be gay! Also it's not like your telling the whole world that your gay, you are just telling your parents, and the probably will keep it a secret until you tell them that they can share it with others. Your parents will always be there for you and will never leave your side! Sooner or later they will find out anyways.

Well, I guess you should now because you can't hide it forever. you will eventually want to settle down with your gay partner and it may be even more difficult then.

I know its hard for some kids to tell their parents that because not every oarent will accept and be ok with there child being gay. But, great in the parents that do. This is just a sad case.

How Much Do U Tell the 'Rents?

  • My parents know everything about my life.
  • I tell my mom a lot of things, but not my dad.
  • I share a lot with my dad, but not my mom.
  • I don't tell my parents anything. They wouldn't understand.

A year ago my grandfather had died. It's still hard, but in time, everything will be okay, I believe. Just recently my friend's mom died.

Dear Jaclyn, dont be ashamed to be apart of this generation because there are some children who will be positive and in no way like Giavanna.
