Hero:108 follows the outrageous adventures of a group of brave young defenders determined to end a conflict between animals and humans in The Hidden Kingdom. Check out Kidzworld's first review of this cool new cartoon on Teletoon!

The Story

Long ago in The Hidden Kingdom, animals and humans lived together in peace … until the evil HighRoller convinced the animals that humans were their enemies. HighRoller and his animal troops have driven the humans from their homes and it is now up to Big Green and their elite force - a band of young heroes known as First Squadron - to bring peace back to The Hidden Kingdom.

First Squadron, consisting of Lin Chung (a.k.a. Panther Eye), Mighty Ray, Mystic Sonia and Jumpy Ghostface will have to face off against a variety of fierce creatures, such as fire breathing Ligers and magic lantern wielding Zebras, if they are going to win back the kingdom.

Series Premiere: Rabbit Castle

You could say Hero:108 starts off with a “hop, skip and a jump” in its series premiere: Rabbit Castle! Without giving away too much of the story (you’ll have to watch it yourself!), a battle is being waged deep in the Hidden Kingdom, and rabbits who jump rope (that’s right, they skip rope!) and are armed with Carrot Grenades battle against the First Squad. Basically, the show managed to blend the perfect mix of comedy and action – cartoon-style.

The Characters

High Roller:

  • A disgruntled former court jester, he now rules the land with his animal troops
  • After being struck by lightning he gained the ability to speak to the animals
  • Loves to play games
  • Personality: a spoiled kid, selfish and moody

  • The Zebra Brothers:

  • Sparky W and Sparky B are High Roller’s bungling henchmen who also serve as his spies
  • Possess very strong magical powers and the ability to speak to humans
  • Personality: constantly fighting amongst each other, easily distracted, bullies

  • Ape Trully:

  • A monkey in a human disguise, Ape Trully did not follow HighRoller and established Big Green
  • Leader of Big Green, he is fluent in both human and animal languages
  • Personality: gentle, delightful, means well, but a poor negotiator

  • Lin Chung/PantherEye:

  • The most skilled warrior in First Squadron
  • His legendary "panther vision" allows him extraordinary precision with his bamboo gun and the ability to see great distances in slow motion
  • Personality: calm, sincere, at one with nature

  • Mystique Sonia:

  • The most beautiful girl in all of Big Green, she knows it, and is not afraid to use it
  • Her tongue is truly mightier than a sword - as a weapon her tongue can stretch great distances
  • Wears a magical creature (Yaksha) on her head that will protect her at any cost
  • Personality: smart, strong, fierce

  • Mighty Ray:

  • Strongest member of First Squadron
  • A fearless fighter who has the ability to unleash blasts of fire and lightning from his eyeballs
  • Personality: a bit of a hothead, he is selfish, yet very trustworthy

  • Jumpy Ghostface:

  • Was the Rabbit King before joining First Squadron
  • Has a huge imagination and likes to daydream and therefore is easily distracted
  • He has ninja skills and is a master at jumping rope, which he uses as a weapon

  • Has the ability to fly short distances with the use of the tassle on his hat
  • Contrary to his name, he actually does have hands
  • Personality: strict, harsh exterior with a soft spot inside

  • Hero:108 Rating: 4

I am actually a shipper myself. In fact, I didn't really believe in that many shippings except three. But I honestly think this is a nice pairing for whatever reason. Maybe it's the fact that this time Serena ACTUALLY has canonical crush on Ash? I usually base my beliefs on true facts. And they're in a region based on France. It is a rather romantic atmosphere, which I guess is why I get challenged by so many honeymooners in the Pokemon Y game... Anyway, why don't you post what you think? Are they a nice pairing, or do you think other shippings are better? I understand, because Pokeshipping is a worthy opponent.
