They’re Back!

Phineas and Ferb fans will be pleased with the franchise’s newest video game, Phineas and Ferb: Ride Again for the Nintendo DS. The stepbrothers from the popular TV cartoon are back in this new puzzle game. Players make their way through four different worlds, collecting parts to build a new skateboard.

In order to find these parts, players must complete mini games and find hidden toolboxes. There are a few basic mini games that are repeated throughout, and while they lack challenge, they do not play a major part in the overall game.

Eternal Life

It is impossible to die in the game, but every time Phineas or Ferb are hurt your Candace meter decreases. When the meter runs out you simply need to win a short mini game in order to get back to regular gameplay. There are checkpoints spread out throughout all levels, providing the player with an option to save the game. If you cannot beat the Candace mini game you will be sent back to the last checkpoint.

Give Me a Challenge

Overall, Phineas and Ferb: Ride Again is an amusing but relatively easy game to play. There are some points that players may be challenged though. A difficult spot near the end of the first world sent me running in circles for a good hour. It would have been nice to have a few more challenging areas. This is a decent video game that will be enjoyable, but will not have you playing for weeks. Players may give up before reaching the end.
