NHL Hockey Headshots : Crosby's Concussion

Jul 10, 2018

Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are in a world of hurt. Sydney is still injured with a major concussion and if you’re a hockey fan, you know that he’ll never be the same. But let’s face it, hockey has become the fastest and most dangerous sport and everyone needs to stop complaining about violence in hockey… especially Sidney.

The Heritage Headshot

Sidney’s head was leveled by the shoulder David Steckel of the Washington Capitals in the heritage outdoor classic in an innocent collision that was just an accident. Sidney complained that it was a “headshot” and in his post-game interview he was full of complaints:

  • He should not have been hit because he didn’t have the puck
  • He was hit blindsided
  • There was no way to protect himself
  • David was responsible and should have tried to avoid him
  • Only David knows if he tried to hurt him

Whoa whoa whoa Sidney! This has to be one of the most innocent collisions in hockey. If you look at the replay, Sydney is actually cutting off David, who is going straight after the puck. C’mon Sidney, we all know David was not trying to hurt you.

There are thousands of incidents in hockey much worse than this hit, and most of them are intentional. Hockey has always been a violent game and there have been times when Sidney has been caught on film trying to hurt someone.

Matt and Marc

If you know anything about Karma or the expression “what goes around, comes around”, you might think that this injury for Sidney is payback for what Sidney’s teammate Matt Cooke did to Boston Bruins’ Superstar Marc Savard. Listen to Don Cherry predict Sidney Crosby's injury is coming...

Sidney is the best player in the NHL and when he speaks, people listen. Unfortunately, he has the nickname Sidney Crybaby for a reason. Sidney needs to suck it up and face the music. Hockey has always been fast and dangerous and he signed up for it.
