About the Show
How to Rock follows the journey of talented teenager Kacey (Cymphonique Miller), a once perfect “mean girl” who falls out of favor with the in-crowd after she has to get glasses and braces. She soon discovers that hanging out with a new group of friends may not be as bad as it first seemed. The season will follow Kacey as she navigates through high school social circles, makes real and fake friendships, and learns how to rock her real self.
In the first episode, “How to Rock Braces and Glasses”, Kacey becomes friends with the members of a band called Gravity 5. She quickly joins the band as their lead singer, and ignites a rivalry between Gravity 5 and her old band, The Perfs.
Characters
Kacey Simon: Former queen of The Perfs, now lead singer of Grabity 5, Kacey is confident, bold and beautiful. She is on a constant campaign to take her new friends and band mates to the top of the school social ladder.
Zander Robbins: The new kid in school and the guitarist of Gravity 5, Zander is cool, handsome and maybe a little vain, but he’s confident, loyal and the voice of reason in his band of friends.
Stevie Baskara: The beautiful, intelligent, no-nonsense bass player in Gravity 5. The guys love her because she’s cool and not girlie. And they fear her because she can and will crush them.
Molly Garfunkel: For years, she was in Kacey’s shadow, but with Kacey ousted, she’s the new queen bee of The Perfs. Molly is every bit as confident, popular and beautiful as Kacey, but she’s also an evil mastermind plotting to keep Kacey from ever becoming popular again.
Grace King: Molly’s gorgeous but naïve sidekick in The Perfs. Although she tries to follow Molly’s evil lead, Grace just doesn’t have it in her to be mean.
Nelson Baxter: The tech-savvy, sci-fi loving keyboard player and DJ for Gravity 5. Nelson is confident when talking about the ladies but completely tongue-tied when he is in the same room as one.
Kevin Reed: The drummer for Gravity 5, Kevin is constantly hungry and constantly sweating. He’s awkward with the ladies but athletic enough to make every sports team, just not good enough to actually play.
