New Super Mario Bros. 2 is all about the gold! Every level in game is cram packed with opportunities to score coins. There is even a counter that keeps track of the total number of coins that you have collected throughout the game and a small celebratory message pops up whenever you hit milestones. The ultimate goal of the game is no longer to rescue the princess. No, the big task in New Super Mario Bros. 2 is to collect one million coins. Good luck!
Power is Golden
Bowser and the Koopalings have kidnapped the princess. It's up to Mario and Luigi to rescue her, but that won't stop them from earning a buck or two along the way. Even when there doesn't seem to be many coins in a level, there are ways to get the gold. There are rings that convert all enemies in gold. If you kick a golden Koopa shell, it will leave a trail of coins for you to collect.
There are also golden versions of power ups, like the golden fire flower that will explode brick blocks and enemies into collectible coins. There is even a new power up that you can acquire by hitting a coin block several times. The block will get stuck on Mario's head and will spew out coins while you run! Of course, some of your old favorite power ups are back, including the mini and mega mushrooms as well as the super leaf that will give Mario a raccoon tail.
Gold Finish?
New Super Mario Bros. 2 has all the elements that make Mario game fun. The levels are well designed and there are lots of secrets and collectibles to find. The game has over 80 levels, which is enough to last you for weeks. Overall the game is fun and is great for players of any skill.
