The Odd Life of Timothy Green DVD + Blu-ray Review

The Odd Life of Timothy Green DVD + Blu-ray Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Dec 11, 2012
( Rating: 3 Star Rating)

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is the magical story of couple who want to start a family but can't, until one stormy night Timothy shows up on their doorstep, without either of them knowing his "roots"!

The Odd Life of Timothy Green

Cindy (Jennifer Garner) and Jim Green are happily married in an industrial town with a pencil factory, all they need to complete their family is a child but after realising they can't they sit down one night and think of all the great qualities their child would have had. They put the lists they wrote in a box and bury it in their back yard, and lo and behold 10-year-old Timothy (CJ Adams) crawls out the ground and arrives on the doorstep after a special rainstorm. Timothy is everything the Greens ever wanted, but there's no denying there's something strange about his roots - literally, his feet are sprouting leaves!

Bonus Features

The DVD/Blu-ray Digital Copy of The Odd Life of Timothy Green comes with a few special bonus features:

  • This is Family - The story of how this story took root and "blossomed!"
  • The Gift of Music - The story of the origin of Academy Award-winner Glen Hansard's "This Gift," featured on the soundtrack
  • Feature Commentary - Director Peter Hedges guides audiences through the commentary
  • Glen Hansard:" This Gift" Music Video
  • Deleted Scenes

The Bottom Line

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is part fairytale, part sentimental family film and it's guaranteed to tug on your heart strings and even gives you a few laughs while you're tearing up. CJ Adams is breath of fresh air as Timothy, perfectly capturing the sense of someone new to this earth and eager to please. The only drawbacks with this film is that it can tug on the heartstrings a little too hard!

Here are my top 9 worst TV shows I have ever watched. 1. Breadwinners and Sanjay and Craig (tie) 2. Marvin Marvin 3.  Pickle and Peanut 4 Fred Figglehorn  5. Annoying Orange 6. Austin and Ally 7. Dog on a Blog 8. The Day My Butt Went Psycho (I'm not Canadian but it doesn't look like a good show) 9. Lab Rats  Basically every show that has a laugh track.  If you are looking for a good show, watch Doctor Who. No laugh tracks, humor is used properly, good storyline, DOESN'T take place in a school ALL OF THE TIME (well, it does in some episodes such as school reunion) The cast isn't full of teenagers and parents won't get so annoyed of the show. It's about a 900 year old time lord (who looks like a human) that travels in a TARDIS. He has 13 regenerations and almost always has a female companion with him. He is the last of his species so he's always lonely on Earth.

Plus he said MOST on cartoon Network. Not every show. I have to agree. There is better TV out there... Such as.... *takes deep breath* Doctor Who (Better than ALL of the trash they show on Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and most cartoon network shows combined) Old spongebob (not the new spongebob episodes) Sherlock (hmmm I have never watched the show but i have heard it's awesome) I worship the BBC for making good things happen to the world.
