Life of Pi

Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Yann Martel, Director Ang Lee's Life of Pi is a visual masterpiece about hope, wonder, survival and the power of the human spirit swept audiences away with it's magnificent special effects  and powerful message. Life of Pi won 4 Academy Awards, and was nominated in 11 categories. It follows the story of a young boy named Pi Patel who after leaving India with his family on a boat headed to North America is the sole survivor of a massive a storm at sea - the sole survivor except for a fully grown tiger with whom he must share his lifeboat that is! In the course of being adrift at sea for countless days Pi and the tiger learn how to live with each other after surviving daily life-threatening experiences. This book-turned-movie materpiece is now available in stores on DVD/Blu-ray and Digital Copy all in one!

The Bottom Line

Not only is the story of Life of Pi captivating, but Director Ang Lee has found a way to immerse his audiences visually in landscape of India and the fantastical adventure of being lost at sea. The best way to relive this adventure is with none of the cinematic splendor being lost is to watch it on Blu-Ray or at the very least on HD (which come as part of the combo-pack) and the deleted scenes will let you live through new parts of the experience. For movie-lovers who have to know how it's done there are plenty of extras in the Special Features of the combo pack that will walk through how they created the look and feel of the movie and the filming experience.
