Life of Pi
Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Yann Martel, Director Ang Lee's Life of Pi is a visual masterpiece about hope, wonder, survival and the power of the human spirit swept audiences away with it's magnificent special effects and powerful message. Life of Pi won 4 Academy Awards, and was nominated in 11 categories. It follows the story of a young boy named Pi Patel who after leaving India with his family on a boat headed to North America is the sole survivor of a massive a storm at sea - the sole survivor except for a fully grown tiger with whom he must share his lifeboat that is! In the course of being adrift at sea for countless days Pi and the tiger learn how to live with each other after surviving daily life-threatening experiences.
