Real Talk and Twitter

A major performance highlight this year came right at the start when Nicki Minaj kicked off the show performing her hugely underrated song "Trini Dem Girls," she got the crowd pumped up and ready for action with this dance track, and then transitioned into her summer hit "The Night is Still Young," joined by none other than Taylor Swift (it looks like these two divas got over their Twitter feud fast - but it later in the night during her acceptance speech Nicki called out Cyrus instead, and it's hard to know whether it was staged or not!)

Speaking Swiftly

Taylor Swift presented Kanye West with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award (its kinda like a lifetime achievement award), and he couldn't help but mention that infamous moment years ago when he interrupted her Taylor's acceptance speech - it looks like the hip hop star has been doing some soul searching of late now that he has a daughter.

Speaking of Taylor, pre-show she debuted the video for "Wildest Dreams," starring hottie Scott Eastwood, and considering she swept the floor with the other nominees in wins last night, it was a cherry on top for one of her biggest years.
