Quiz the coach helps teen and tweens with sports and fitness related issues and problems like obesity, healthy eating questions, skateboard tricks and P.E. dilemnas. - Page 5

So ya dig sports but need some help with your game? Don't understand some of the rules of football, basketball or hockey? Got a gripe about P.E. class, skateboarders, cheerleading, coaches, or anything? Why not ?

1Hey Coach,
I made the team but my teacher banned me from playing b-ball because my test results weren't good. Now, my studies are good but she still won't let me play. What should I do to convince her to let me play b-ball?
Stryke

Hey Stryke

Most teachers think it's more important to know fractions, verbs and state capitals than it is to have a good jump shot. And, unless you're Lebron James, your teachers are right. If you're not passing all your tests in the classroom, don't expect to be passing the basketball around on the court.

However, exerise and playing sports are important and you should have time to do well in school and play basketball. Your teacher is probably concerned that your marks will start to slip if you start playing basketball again. Explain to your teacher that you understand the importance of getting good marks and that you'll study even harder if you're allowed back on the team.

Make sure you can live up to your end of the bargain by spending as much time doing homework as you do shooting hoops. If your teacher still won't let you play ball, disguise yourself with a big, afro wig and dark glasses and tell your teacher you're a new student.

Do you need tips or advice on sports, fitness or health? to the Kidzworld Coach. Keep in mind peeps, the Kidzworld Coach isn't a doctor or a professional athlete or anything like that. He's just a dude who digs sports, plays 'em and knows a lot about 'em. You should always talk to your 'rents, a doctor or your school gym teacher before starting a new sport or a new exercise.

It's definitely an American thing - here in Australia we have like no Cheerleaders or Cheerleading groups. I think it's a sport but I'm not really into it. I think any girls or boys can do it. :3
