No Doubt The Singles 1992-2003 Review
Courtesy of InterscopeNo Doubt has been around for a long time. That's because their great
style and great tunes add up to major
staying power. If ya don't believe me, just check out the tunes on their latest album,
The Singles 1992-2003 and let the music speak (err... sing) for itself.
No Doubts Greatest Hits
This album may not be called "Greatest Hits" but that's what it's about. You'll be able to rock-out to some of
No Doubt's classic tunes like
Just a Girl, Spiderwebs and
Don't Speak. And, we're talking only the best versions of the best No Doubt songs - like
Hey Baby featuring Bounty Killer and
Underneath It All featuring cool chatter from Lady Saw. If you're like most, you only discovered
No Doubt when their
Tragic Kingdom disc took off. With The Singles 1992-2003, you'll be able to scope out songs that they did before that album, like
Trapped in a Box.
No Doubt: New to You
To keep the album from being total deja vu, No Doubt recorded a new song - well, new to them (and probably you). The tune
It's My Life is No Doubt's cover of an '80s song by a band called
Talk Talk. It's still got an
'80s feel to it, but
Gwen Stefani's top-notch vocals give it a
new punk edge.
The Bottom Line on The Singles
This record is a great way to get all the
No Doubt goodness without any of the not-so goodness. If you're all about
the hits and don't wanna buy a bunch of albums to get them -
The Singles 1992-2003 is for you. If you dig B tracks, or don't dig retro hits, this isn't the No Doubt album for you.
