Presidential Timeline
  • 1897-1901 - William McKinley
  • 1901-1909 - Theodore Roosevelt - He was the first American to win the Nobel Peace Prize and "teddy bears" are named after him.
  • 1909-1913 - William H. Taft
  • 1913-1921 - Woodrow Wilson - He was the only president to date with a Ph.D.
  • 1921-1923 - Warren G. Harding
  • 1923-1929 - Calvin Coolidge
  • 1929-1933 - Herbert C. Hoover - He was the first president to have a telephone on his desk.
  • 1933-1945 - Franklin D. Roosevelt - Genealogists have determined that Roosevelt was distantly related to 12 previous Presidents.
  • 1945-1953 - Harry S. Truman
  • 1953-1961 - Dwight D. Eisenhower
  • 1961-1963 - John F. Kennedy - Kennedy was the youngest President to take office.
  • 1963-1969 - Lyndon B. Johnson
  • 1969-1974 - Richard M. Nixon - Nixon was the only president who resigned.
  • 1974-1977 - Gerald Ford
  • 1977-1981 - Jimmy Carter
  • 1981-1989 - Ronald Reagan - Reagan was the oldest person ever elected President. He was 73.
  • 1989-1993 - George Bush Senior
  • 1993-2001 - Bill Clinton
  • 2001-2008 - George W. Bush
